Flower Crops

CapriGirl

More on my continuing quest to re-purpose long pants for summer: these little crops can’t be more simple: take a pair of too-short jeans (can you tell we’re a jeans family?), fold and stitch the cuffs in place. To dress them up, add a pretty fabric flower pin–this little idea makes my head spin with all the possibilities…you can have custom-looking pants, skirts, whatever for any occasion using anything you want!

6 weeks

Kaymn Orange Chair

Man, time has flown. My precious baby girl is 6 weeks old today. We have had a great time having her in our family, and have been adjusting well. She sure is growing and is now up to 9 lbs 12 oz, and she’s a great baby to boot! Today I took her out to take a few pictures of her to post. She really likes to be outside, so she was a great for pictures….

Monkey Toes

We absolutely love these stinkin cute “Monkey toes”. She usually has them spread out like her hands. The photo below was snapped while doing Ann Marie and Chelsea’s photo shoots–I had to get a picture of Miss Kay on this washer just like her older sister Kodie.

Okay, now on to the real reason that I wanted to post today. Kaymn is 6 weeks old and I am now booking sessions. Since I’m excited to get back to work, I thought I’d share the love with all of you and offer special pricing of $75 on sessions booked and photographed by July 31st.

A Little Loopy

I love hooks! They’re my go-to organizing solution and I have them everywhere in my home. I especially like hooks on doors.

DoorHook

I have a tiny bathroom, so I hang my boy’s towels on his door. But towels don’t always behave the way I want: they slip off the hooks from time to time, and I don’t like to pick them up!

HangingTowels

In fact, I’m tired of picking them up. So these towels and I had a little date with my sewing machine.

And now we’ve come to an amicable agreement:

Have a beautiful weekend!

Hatched

The eggs hatched yesterday morning…these birds have camouflage down. The chickees were still around last night, and fluffier and cuter, but they’re gone now.

I owe a very special thank you to this little guy for helping me to get such great smiles out of Miss Chelsea. Also, a thanks to ML for carrying my baby around and assisting me on this photo session.

Here are a few more pictures that I wanted to share from Chelsea’s session….

What to Do with Your List When You Don’t Want to Work on Your List

Because I have a gazillion things on my list, but feeling a bit…uninspired by said list, I decided to do a quick makeover on it. You know, to inspire me. Anyone else out there feel like they’re developing adult ADD?

 Before, blah:

Before

After some mod-podge, lace, paper, ribbon (great tutorial here):

After

Sigh. That’s better. Now I think I’d better get down to crossing things off that list!

Wishing you all a lovely, inspired, productive day,
Audrey

She Smiles…..

Miss Chelsea totally had a blast getting her pictures taken. She knew how to ham it up for the camera, and she was PERFECT! Here are just a few from her session for now….

In the end, it’s not what we know, but what we do that makes a difference. (Talking to myself here…)

Ann Marie

Here are the more to come…This is one of my beautiful Sisters-in-Law, Ann Marie.  I am glad that we were able to get a session in for her before she headed back to California. We had a great time taking pictures of her and her daughter Chelsea.

Ann Marie and Chels

I love this one of her and Chelsea….they were having fun!

A Discovery

Mama

We were working on the lawn the other evening, when the kids noticed a crazy little bird out near the end of the driveway. It kept running toward them, tweeting loudly, turning and spreading its wings and tail feathers while running the other direction, all the while setting up as big a racket as it could. Very dramatic.

Danger

It didn’t take long for the detectives of the house to figure out why.

Discovery

Eggs

At first, I thought the bird was not very intelligent–I mean, who lays eggs in a driveway? Trees seem like a much safer bet to me. But, in the interest of presenting factual information here, I Googled it, and it turns out Killdeer generally DO lay their eggs on the ground. Go figure! Regardless, we had a fun time watching that funny mama bird try to lead us away from her little nest, she was quite the entertainer.

As I write this, I realize I’m on a learn-random-information-about-animals kick lately…last week I Googled  ‘how long does it take for a cat to digest a mouse’  after watching our cat swallow a mouse in less than thirty seconds. Very interesting. I heart Google.

ta-ta-for-now,
Audrey
