I took the kiddos and myself to my friend for some hair-trim-ups today, and had an unexpected life-changing experience. It’s been two years since we chopped Miss J’s hair to donate to Locks of Love, and her hair has grown quite long, so we checked to see if she had enough length to donate again. Sure enough, she did. But her haircut ended up being a bit shorter than she wanted. I could see her trying to be brave and holding herself together in that chair, so I said, “Why don’t we see if mine is long enough to do it too?” And it was! So we both ended up with some super-short dos. All together, we got 6 ponytails to send off. Woot!
Afterwards, we wrangled Kayla into shooting some photos of our new looks, and she didn’t disappoint:

That is the sweetest mom thing to do. I admit I choked back some tears. It’d be a great commercial for mormomads or for-a-better-life foundation, or even L.O.L. I can see it now. Beautiful.

I’ve been so busy that I have not seen this post. My sister, Sarah, asked me if I had seen your hair. I told her that I saw a FB pic and thought it was so cute! I said, “I wonder why she decided to cut it.” She looked shocked!!! She told me the story, and I thought it was so sweet. I’m apparently too vain to do this, but I will keep growing and maybe Liv and I will do it. YOU INSPIRE ME!!! I miss IMing…I’ll try to get on more often.
