A Special Day

It’s been a few weeks ago now (ummm…where did October go?), but I wanted to share a couple images of Miss J’s baptism day. I can’t believe she’s this old…or this beautiful. I so love being her mom.

Of course, we got her dress here. ;) I tried talking her into a Mom-made dress, and she vehemently declined. She’s loved this one since she laid eyes on it…

Mission Accomplished: Birthday Dresses

KaitKy

At long last, the birthday dresses are finished and photographed for posterity! These girls picked out their own fabrics and styling, and, if I don’t say so myself…they look beautiful!

My nieces came over and spent the afternoon with me today…after a yummy lunch (thanks K!) they each picked a style and the fabrics they wanted to use, then happily played while I measured, drafted, and cut. We ran out of time to complete the sewing process, so stay tuned for finished dresses!

Miss Sassy

One of my wonderful assistant Mary Lynn came out today and we went out to take some pictures. We had a great time and here is a sneak peak of what we got…..Miss Sassy!!!  I don’t think that Miss Kodie has worked the camera before like she did today. Must be the clothes!  I don’t know where she got all of her poses, but there was one that she did say that she learned from Disney’s Camp Rock.

A Little Bit of Sass

There will be more pictures to post of Kodie next week. We are off for a fun lunch and more pictures. {wink}

Have a good one…..Kayla

(Dress by Audrey…so cute huh!?)( Don’t forget my SPECIAL on sessions is ending soon!!!)

I guess its time I get a picture of Kaymn’s blessing dress on here since the sneak peak was last week. Here is a full shot of her beautiful gown.

China Dresses

easterj

I bought this satin jacquard a long while ago to make a luxe baby blanket for Miss M. Surprise! It never became a blanket. Miss J has been requesting a “china dress” out of it for quite some time, so I decided to give it a go for Easter this year.

I didn’t have enough fabric to make two full dresses, so Miss M’s outfit became a two-piece look, and I really like how it came together. I wanted to use ivory English net for her tutu, but alas, no stores in my region carry English net: the sales ladies there looked at me like I was crazy when I asked for it and promptly directed me to the nylon tulle selection. Fortunately for me, I found a non-English-net alternative in the Christmas fabrics section: a sheer fabric with a gold mesh pattern on it. Made for a cute (if not quite as versatile as planned) frilly skirt!

Christmas Past

christmasdresses08

Aaahhh. It feels so good to have the big day over. I love the season and the trimmings…but I am a bit relieved to have the Christmas pressure gone. I hope you all had as lovely and snowy a holiday as we did…well, maybe not as snowy. A belated Merry Christmas to you!

Another Drawstring Bag…with Accessories

I’m heading out for a fun family gathering today and won’t be back ’till Sunday, but wanted to leave you with a picture of the last of the niece birthday bags…with its matching hat and skirt. I think I might be having too much fun with these, I just can’t get enough!

Fun with Ginger Blossom

clochehatbloomers1

So I promised a cute top out of this Ginger Blossom fabric by Sandi Henderson…but the cute top turned into a sweet little hat, a pair of bloomers, a couple of twirly skirts for my girls, and a bag for me (still in the works, but I’m so excited about it!). I love looking at these colors together, and have been kicking myself for letting my little stash simmer for so long. It’s been perfectly lovely to sit and create with.
