Work, Work, Work

Yikes! Where is January going? Mine has been spent largely on family (yay!) and on a monumental work project (double yay!).

In the meantime, a couple of my posts were featured on Tip Junkie over the last few days, so “Hi” to anyone jumping over from there, so glad to have you!

Gotta get back to that project, I hope to have it wrapped up in the next week or so. Ta-ta for now!

Don’t Miss Out on This Give Away!

Hats Off

New Fall pricing is available on portrait sessions by Kayla here at Sage Meadow Studio, and to celebrate, we’re giving away a free session valued at $95 to one lucky commenter! Your session will include 1-2 hours on-location, access to a private online proofing gallery of at least 25 photos, a CD containing 10-15 web-resolution watermarked images suitable for blogs, Facebook, etc., and a bonus 8×10 print. You’ll need to plan on scheduling your local shoot by mid-November to have portraits on time for Christmas. Did I really just say the C-word? Oh my.

You can choose from any of the following session types:

Maternity…all the attention is on mommy-to-be, but dad can come too if he wants.

Newborn…focuses on baby (under 2 weeks old) and some interactions with mom & dad.

Fun with the Kids…adventurous sessions for 1-4 children.

Family…a candid session for up to 6 members of the same immediate family.

Senior…the camera’s on the graduate; 2-3 locations; 2-3 wardrobe changes.

Engagement…it’s all about the happy couple; 2-3 locations.

Bridal…a fun & creative session with the bride; 2-3 locations.

So, are you up for it? Drop us a comment on this post or on our Facebook page anytime before 10 pm on Wednesday, September 16th telling us what type of session you’d pick. One winner will be randomly selected and announced on Friday the 18th.

Can’t wait to hear from you!

The Sewing Corner

That’s right. Sage Meadow Studio could rightfully be called Sage Meadow Sewing Corner. Long story short, my sewing and design area/office was once a large closet, and measures approximately 12 feet by 5 feet…it has to pack a punch in a small footprint. The room has been something short of inspiring for a long time, so over the Memorial Day weekend, I tackled several little projects to pull it together a bit and help me feel more centered and focused. I started with the box liner/covers, and had my sister-in-law put together the inspirational message I wanted/needed:

CreateEveryday

I was in dire need of a good way to visually store my ribbon stash, and when I saw this storage idea in a recent issue of Creating Keepsakes, I knew I’d found it!

There’s some changin’ goin’ on ’round here! I’m pleased to announce that my sister Kayla and I are joining forces at Sage Meadow Studio. She will be posting her photographic endeavors, and I’ll keep on sharing whatever I feel like sharing. I have a long old list of projects to document, and plan to get them going here right away, so check back soon–lots of fun stuff on the horizon. Oooh, and in the next week or so, we’ll have some long-awaited newborn portraits of a special little someone we’ve been anxiously waiting to meet (we’re hoping baby will be here tomorrow)!

I lost one of my earrings. I hate it when that happens!

Fortunately, I know how to come up with a replacement, and since today marks one year since I began this blog, I thought I’d make another pair for one of you while I’m at it. I’ll select a winner from comments to this post received by 10 pm Saturday April 25th–love ya!

Check out my sister Kayla's photography!
