Wow, it has been a long time since I have shared pictures! Things have been crazy busy trying to get our crops out of the ground. We are chugging along day by day! I do have lots pictures to share, and I will try and get them all together to post thru out the week. Thanks to all who check back daily. We love seeing you visit!!!!

It’s My Party…And I Want You to Come!
Okay, so it’s not really my party. But I want you to come! This little pretty will be for sale, along with several more unique, colorful, fun apron styles made by moi. Here’s the 4-1-1:

Pretty ‘New’ Trinkets
I received the latest J. Crew catalog in the mail the other day and immediately stopped what I was doing to spend a few quiet minutes drooling over how they’ve styled their Fall ’09 looks. So gorgeous!
While I’d dearly love to snap up a gazillion dollars worth of J. Crew goodness…it’s not in the cards this year. So, I decided to do the next best thing–make something I already have work! I purchased this necklace at da-da-da-daaaaa: Walmart for about $5 a couple years ago, and it just wasn’t sitting right with me as-is. It’s cute-ish, but just a little too bulky and blah at the same time:
I fiddled with the necklace until it had the drape I wanted, then tacked black grosgrain ribbons to the links:
And just for fun, I attempted a little self-portait. (OK, that was harder than I thought it would be!) I’m LOVING my new trinket, especially the fact that it cost nothing and took literally minutes to do!
Back to sewing now…I’ve got some fun things to share soon!

Mmmm…Homemade Taco Seasoning
Kayla and I grew up on tacos…made with pre-packaged taco seasoning. And I just never loved that flavor, until I figured out that I could make my own! (Here is where I’d like to personally thank the internet for an amazing impact on my culinary skills…thanks!) I was mixing up a batch just now, and decided I’d share it with you too:
Taco Seasoning
1 tbsp. chili powder
2 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. each ground cumin, garlic powder, paprika, powdered oregano and sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl. Makes 3 tablespoons of seasoning mix, which is equal in strength to a 1/4 ounce package of commercial seasoning mix.

My sister-in-law, Katrina, is hosting a little crafty open house with a bunch of local talented chicks in a few weeks, so I’m working on some projects to throw in the mix. I’ll post more details of the party later (feel free to go ahead and mark your calendars for Thursday, October 8 😉 ), but wanted to leave you with a shot of what’s cooking! Y’all come back now, hear?

Accomplished: One Thing
Someone special dropped by today for a quick lesson in flower-making, resulting in this huge 8″ blossom…it was nice to actually complete a project, as I’m literally swimming in dozens of unfinished tasks!
I’m so behind I think I’ll just keep swimming…

I have been able to photograph this cute little guy since he was a day old in the hospital and then in the studio at 9 days old. It’s kinda crazy to think that he is a one year now!
