Sketches

My nieces came over and spent the afternoon with me today…after a yummy lunch (thanks K!) they each picked a style and the fabrics they wanted to use, then happily played while I measured, drafted, and cut. We ran out of time to complete the sewing process, so stay tuned for finished dresses!

My Other Perfect Model
I am so grateful that my little girls will go along with my crazy little ideas! Last week I took baby Kaymn out in 100 degree weather to take a few pictures. She did pretty good for usually being grouchy when it is hot (she takes after her dad on that one.) Once I got her to sleep, I was able to do pretty much anything with her.
Sorry that I share so many pictures of my baby…..but she is always around when I have an idea and you know how babies attract cameras. {wink}
Posing in the Rain
So I gave you the sneak peak, here are some more pictures of Miss Sassy. I really probably should have put these in a collage or something because there are several of them, and I still have more great ones to share….but its late, and I am camping, and I really should be in bed by now!!
So what do you think? Leave me a comment if you want to see more!!!
Miss Sassy
One of my wonderful assistant Mary Lynn came out today and we went out to take some pictures. We had a great time and here is a sneak peak of what we got…..Miss Sassy!!! I don’t think that Miss Kodie has worked the camera before like she did today. Must be the clothes! I don’t know where she got all of her poses, but there was one that she did say that she learned from Disney’s Camp Rock.
There will be more pictures to post of Kodie next week. We are off for a fun lunch and more pictures. {wink}
Have a good one…..Kayla
(Dress by Audrey…so cute huh!?)( Don’t forget my SPECIAL on sessions is ending soon!!!)
A Style All Her Own
I’ve always admired girls who can pull off a carefree, bohemian look with confidence…free from rigid rules of matchy-matchy primness. Truth be told, I’ve always considered myself a member of the latter class, with a secret yearning to be more adventurous. Both my girls started expressing strong wills in clothing at what I considered to be a young age, and I’ve often cringed at the combos they put together. I’ll even admit to some butting of heads over wardrobe choices. But I’ve worked to let it go (easier in the summer) and let them wear what they want to wear…for the most part. I find that they’re more open to guidance when it’s necessary if I let them be in the driver’s seat most of the time. So, this is what Miss M put together today, and I giggled when I saw her unexpected punch of personality…can you see it?
Turns out, there is a use for the cut-off hems of holey-kneed leggings. And maybe I’m getting more relaxed with age, but I think it’s kind of genius!
Looking forward to what tomorrow brings,
Audrey
Designer Birthdays
It’s All Fun and Games
Whew! The last couple days have been CRAZY busy! Parties and yard sales to prep for, trying to keep up with a house that seems to be three steps ahead at all times…good stuff. It’s a good life.
Kayla helped me fill these cute rice bags for our party tonight (thanks, sis!), thank you to all who came, it was absolutely lovely to share the evening with you!
And now, on to the matter of a little giveaway announcement: comment # 2 was randomly chosen following tonight’s festivities, so TINIEL wins the bag!

Kaymn’s Name Bracelet
Here is a close-up of the bracelet I made for Kaymn’s special day. I love how it turned out–it’s a tradition for me, as I made one for her big sister’s blessing four years ago. One Small Child carries a selection of similar personalized bracelets.
(P.S. I’ve purchased a few stretchy bracelets for Kaymn and have lost two so far. This bracelet with the clasp will NOT slide off! Just a little advice from ME!) …….Kayla
It’s A Trendy Tickers Party!

Come party with us at my house this Thursday evening, from 7 to 9 pm–everyone’s invited! My friend Amy will be here with a HA-UGE selection of her adorable Trendy Tickers watches, and there just may be additional selections of sewn and wood/vinyl items handcrafted by my darling sister-in-law and myself. It’s a good excuse to get out of the house and come hang with the girls.
Hope to see you!
Audrey
Here they are….pictures of Kaymn’s blessing dress!!!!
I guess its time I get a picture of Kaymn’s blessing dress on here since the sneak peak was last week. Here is a full shot of her beautiful gown.
My Mom, Audrey and I took Kaymn out on Grandpa’s farm for some fun pictures. Here are a few to share for now.
